Salta - Cachi

Today we have driven from Salta to Cachi in the Andes in Los Cardones (The Cactus) NP.  The day has been wet and misty as we drove through cloud and the walks have been muddy.  We have seen many different landscapes all stunning in their own way.  There has been a lot of rain and the rivers are running fast and full of silt.  The roads are littered with rocks and soil and in some places have almost washed away.  It is lucky we are in a 4WD with good clearance.  Steve has had his best day ever for 'life list' birds possibly over 60!  We saw lovely little piculets and our first toucan.  I will try to get some photos from Steve tomorrow but meanwhile here are some from me.

Still working on the selfie, missed the chapel

  1. Roads sound a little treacherous, but good for birding areas, Steve will be happy. At least you are having fun taking selfies, not as serious. R
